    https://www.mystoryproductionscanada.com/

My Story Productions is creating audio/video programming that is developed and produced by seniors who will share their life’s stories while expressing their feelings through programming such as documentaries, a Senior’s Travel show, a Senior’s variety program and our Senior’s Product Page.

Positions are physically friendly, part-time positions for seniors and non-seniors who will have the opportunity to volunteer or earn extra cash, in these financially stressed times, by working and learning about specific talents in video productions. They can have a family member work alongside the senior in a volunteer capacity. Positions are in sales, research, fundraising, grants sponsorship, production crews, writing, dance, and music. Work from home, except for active production, and you are financially rewarded according to the effort and time you put into the endeavor.

Profits from all sales of our video productions and subsidiary programs are donated to support non-profit senior organizations and to create and support a national “companion” program so seniors never feel they are alone.

Communication and expression are a spiritual hug that brings us all closer and helps us understand and realize that every person has something to offer that is worth much more than just their age. My Story Productions is dedicated to recording the stories of senior’s life experiences and perpetuating an historical and personal legacy that will be valued by their families and educate the viewer with their chronicled adventures.

In our senior’s world active agers can express their feelings, explore their talent, communicate with the world and complete the cycle of love by sharing their stories and “touching” the hearts of people in a positive manner.

To register for a meeting or for more information call 204-957-7908 or email fjasky@mymts.net Tell us about yourself and what areas you would like to get involved with My Story Productions. You will be contacted for a meeting.

    Sincerely,

    Frank Adamson,

    Founder & CEO

Registration now open for Living Prairie Museum Winter Speaker Series | City of Winnipeg

Are you wondering where to go winter hiking or how to pick mushrooms? Consider signing up for one of the free sessions as part of the Living Prairie Museum Winter Speaker Series.

“The Winter Speaker Series sessions are a fun and fascinating way to stay engaged and beat the winter blues while learning about nature,” said Cameron Ruml, Curator of the Living Prairie Museum.

The sessions are offered for free by the Friends of the Living Prairie Museum and run every second Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting on January 24. Registration opens two weeks prior to each event.

The series is hosted by the Friends of the Living Prairie Museum over Zoom.

    • January 24 - Exploring Manitoba's Winter Wilderness: Hiking Tips and Trails, presented by Jaime Manness, founder of Hike Manitoba.
    • February 7 – Mission Monarch – A Community Science Program for Monarch Conservation in Canada – Agathe Moreau, Education Coordinator at Mission Monarch.
    • February 21 – The Fungus Among Us: Manitoba’s Fungal Diversity presented by Dr. Diana Bizecki Robson, Curator of Botany at the Manitoba Museum.
    • March 7 – An Ecological Approach to Planting Native Species with expert ecologist John Morgan, owner of Prairie Habitats Inc.
    • March 21 – Native Plants for Native Lawns - Ash Burkowski, expert native plants grower and Chair of the Friends of the Living Prairie Museum.
The museum will also be hosting Snowshoe Sundays again this winter. They start January 15 and runs every Sunday through the end February  from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No experience is necessary and snowshoes are loaned out for free on a first come, first served basis. Just make sure to bring winter boots. You can also sit by the fire or visit the interpretive centre. Snowshoeing depends on having enough snow, so check first to confirm the conditions are suitable. If you'd rather book a group outing, call 204-832-0167 in advance.

While the Living Prairie Museum Interpretive Centre is open by appointment only for educational programming, the outdoor self-guided trails and cross-country ski paths are open and free to explore daily from dawn until dusk. Visitors should stay on the trails and dog owners are reminded that the preserve is on-leash only, and to pick up after their pooches.
