What is an E.R.I.K. ® Emergency Response Information Kit?

E.R.I.K.® is an Emergency Response Information Kit developed by a local Seniors Resource

Finder, established in response to community concerns regarding the availability of adequate

information in emergency situations. All area emergency groups have endorsed this program.

Once completed, the E.R.I.K.® provides the information for emergency personnel to respond

    quickly to your situation.

    WHO SHOULD USE THE KIT?

The kit is ideal for older adults, persons managing chronic health concerns, those who live alone

or who have caregivers and others who have communication concerns. Individuals may also want

to take a copy of E.R.I.K.® with you when you are away from home. It is very critical to constantly

update the information forms as information changes.

    WHAT DOES E.R.I.K.® CONSIST OF?

    • A health information form, which a health care professional, a pharmacist or your family may

    assist you with.

    • A place to insert your Health Care Directive or Living Will, if you have one. A form is enclosed

if you wish to make a Health Care Directive with your Doctor and family.

    • A patient advocate form.
    • An organ donation option by accessing https://signupforlife.ca/
    • A red and white E.R.I.K.® sticker to stick on your front entrance.
    • A plastic folder with magnets to hold the information placed on the front of your fridge.
    • Contact information for the local Seniors Resource Coordinator.

    WHERE CAN I FIND E.R.I.K.®?

E.R.I.K.® is available from your local Seniors Resource Finders by contacting your Senior

Resource Coordinator. E.R.I.K.® is an integral tool of the Senior Resource Finders in addressing

isolation of older adults. Small donations are appreciated to cover the cost of each kit made.

    COMMUNITY AWARENESS?

Contact your local Senior Resource Finder by contacting your Senior Resource

Coordinator to provide a community presentation on E.R.I.K.® in your community area.

To raise awareness of the risk of shingles and how individuals can protect themselves the IFA is leading a knowledge mobilization campaign across Shingles Awareness Week (SAW) (26th February to 3rd March) and wants to hear from our valued supporters.

Recognizing the critical importance of lived experience and the patient perspective, the IFA is looking to identify individuals who have previously had shingles and who would be willing to share their experience and add their voice to IFA’s SAW 2024 Campaign.

If you are interested in adding your voice and helping advance Shingles Awareness advocacy efforts, be sure to reach out to Policy and Project Coordinator Cera Cruise (

    “Folk Gems of Eastern Europe”

with Kathryn Young, Caitlin Broms-Jacobs and Madeline Hildebrand

Lt.-Gov. Anita R. Neville invites Manitobans to attend the next presentation in a series of free public events designed to welcome Manitobans into Government House and showcase outstanding and inspiring Manitobans who, through words and deeds, continually work to make the province better for all.

The February event will feature Kathryn Young, member of the board of the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg (WMC), and Caitlin Broms-Jacobs and Madeline Hildebrand of Duo CBJ & MH. The Women’s Musical Club, formed in 1894, is the oldest continuously operating musical organization in Winnipeg, dedicated to advancing classical music in our community. Coming together as a duo for the first time in 2014, Duo CBJ & MH performed as part of Winnipeg’s Millennium Recital Series. Since realizing they were a perfect musical match, they have gone on to perform across Canada. Duo CBJ & MH combines to bring you exhilarating melodies and dances by the great composers of Eastern Europe. Enjoy Rachmanioff, Bartók and Amirov in their unique settings for oboe and piano.

The event will be held on Feb. 13 at Government House. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Program begins at 7 p.m. Parking is available on both sides of the Government House driveway.

    Light refreshments to follow.
