Canada Day 2023 – Finding our North Star • July 1, The Forks

  • The Forks Market stage: Noon – Darryl Buck; 1 p.m. – Onna Lou; 2 p.m. – Tommyphyll; 3 p.m. ­– HERA; 4 p.m. – Lev Snowe; 6 p.m. – Jérèmie & The Delicious Hounds; 7 p.m. – Jade Turner; 8 p.m. – The 12/21; 9:30 p.m. – Indian City
  • Forks Festival grounds – 10:30 p.m. – Acakos drone show. Acakos (ah-cha-kos) means ‘star’ in Cree and this show has been curated around the teachings of Elder Wilfred Buck, a member of Opaskwayak Cree Nation and internationally renowned star knowledge keeper
  • Plus family activities at the CN Stage, workshops, tours, picnic tables, food trucks, and a huge soccer tournament

Canada Day Celebration • July 1, Assiniboine Park

  • Lyric Theatre: 11:15 a.m. – Son D’Arranke; 12:15 p.m. – Cassidy Mann; 1:15 p.m. – Richard Inman Band; 2:15 p.m. – Madeleine Roger; 3:15 p.m. – J.P. Hoe
  • Performance Garden at The Leaf: 11:15 a.m. – Andrina Turenne; 12:15 p.m. – Slow Leaves; 1:15 p.m. – Wackydoodle Dance Party for Kids; 2:15 p.m. – Chuck Copenace; 3:15 p.m. – Shay Wolf.
  • Plus a citizenship ceremony, beer garden, bouncy castles, kids’ activities, Inspiration Market makers’ market, face/hand painting, fire teachings by Cree Crowchild at the fire node

Canada Day Fireworks and Festival • July 1, Assiniboia Downs, 3 to 11 p.m.

  • Live music: 3 p.m. – The Incredibly Hip; 4 p.m. – Cohen Sieg; 4:30 p.m. – Fire & Smoke; 5:30 – Arnold J; 6 p.m. – Bobby Dove; 7 p.m. – Kwiat; 7:30 p.m. – Vox Rea; 8:30 p.m. – Alex Maher; 9:30 p.m. – Elliott Brood; 10:30 p.m. – DJ set from JayWood
  • Fireworks at 11 p.m.
  • Plus local vendors, kids’ activities, beer gardens and food trucks.

Canada Day Celebration at Bridgwater Parks • July 1, Fountain and lake area, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Live multicultural entertainment, bouncy castles, dragon dance, lion dance, drumming, face-painting, kids’ activities, birthday cake, food trucks, bazaar tables, petting zoo.
  • Fireworks at 11 p.m.
  • Plus local vendors, kids’ activities, beer gardens and food trucks.
  • Hosted by Winnipeg Chinese Senior Association, Winnipeg South MP Terry Duguid, Waverley MLA Jon Reyes, Waverley West city councillor Janice Lukes

Canada Day at Bourkevale Community Centre • July 1, 3 p.m. – 11 p.m., Bourkevale Community Centre (100 Ferry Rd.)

  • Live multicultural entertainment feat. DJ Spanglish, Folklore de me Tierra Dance Group, Quidel Chilean Youth Dance Group, Latin Roots Dance Group, kids’ activities, food and more
