Manitoba Marathon Foundation hosts the largest mass participation sporting event in the province annually on Father’s Day, but it also hosts smaller events throughout the year to encourage active, healthy living in our community.

The Winnipeg 10&10 is a run/walk event hosting 1300 runners in support of Agape Table, a downtown resource for Winnipeggers experiencing food insecurity. The event starts and finishes at the Legislative, runs through downtown towards Wellington Crescent and turns around at the Assiniboine Park.

We are currently looking to recruit additional volunteers to act as course marshals along the course. Course marshals are located at intersections along the route and help to keep runners on course, cheer them on, and ensure that vehicles approaching the course drive safely near the runners. Course Marshal shifts are located all along the course and are a vital part of the safety of our race day operations.

We have many 55+ volunteers who join us as course marshals regularly, as the shifts are approximately two hours in length and can be done in a combination of sitting and standing (course marshals are welcome to bring a lawn chair to sit in between waves of runner traffic). Our volunteers enjoy the energy of taking part in an exciting community event and get a lot of positive energy from encouraging runners along the route.
